Summer Road Trip - Day Four

Happy 4th of July! We got up and headed into town for the annual parade. It was H-O-T out there. The parade was a riot.

Some of the highlights:

• The 50+ year old lady in white pants and a leopard thong! I am still upset I didn't get a picture.
• The "real housewives of real county". They were dressed in all their fineness and heels. So funny!
• The "gormet" caterer. Yep, spelled just like that. He also advertised for excavating!
• The lady dressed as the Statue of Liberty with her dog dressed as Uncle Sam. The poor dog was so hot. I am still praying for the poor dog.
• The Phillipino man who had obviously NEVER been to a parade before. He ran up to all the floats as they went by grabbing the freebies rather than waiting for them to throw them out to the crowd. He got t-shirts, a grass skirt, koozies, bumper stickers, candy, beads, a bottle-opener and party whistle that he blew so loudly he scared the little children. NUTS!
• The absolute best was the River Haven Lodge Lawn Chair Brigade. HILARIOUS.

After the parade we shopped at the craft fair and lazed in the river. We had a great steak dinner and played some Yahtzee. Yes, Kate won! Mollie and Jesse came in and we visited with them. a great day.
