It was so nice to wake up naturally and without an alarm this morning. The wind was blowing the wind chimes outside my window. PEACE.
We visited over coffee and homemade zucchini muffins and bacon. Dad had to take off to work and we girls just lazed around doin' what girls do: we watched cooking shows, read cookbooks and catalog shopped.
We got dressed and took some family pictures. Can't wait to see them. Kate and I stopped my Hilda's for homemade flour tortilla chips and brown salsa and headed for S.A.
We made it here and tried to go to the McNay for this exhibit but they closed at 4 P.M. So it was WalMart for our dose of culture. On the way to Ben and CeCe's for dinner we went to Incarnate word to see the Christmas lights. It lit the Christmas spirit in all of us.
Ben and CeCe cooked a wonderful meal for us. Here is the menu:
- Prosciutto-wrapped breadsticks
- Caprese skewers
- Arugula salad with candied pecans, dried cranberries and blue cheese
- Prime rib w/fresh horseradish
- Sauteed brussel sprouts
- Sweet potato and turnip gratin
- Pumpkin creme brulee
Is your mouth watering? It should be. It was great seeing and being with my family. They are so dear to me. CeCe is a great addition!
Now I sit quietly with myself full and content knowing God is good.
